I have an old pistol and powder horn for sale or trade. Will consider allreasonable offers, I'm not a gun guy therefore this thing is ofvery little value to me however it doesn't eat much so I'm not giving it away. Will consider parts or tools or cash.Pictures are posted in the gun enthusiast forum underPoker Pistol. Thanks Dan
I found this gun in a book my buddy had that was published in 1995 I think it was Flannery's or something close to that. The gun was built by Newark firearms in Newark NJ in 1876-1877 era. There are no markings on the gun I believe it is a 40 caliber, in the book it was valued at between $200 and $400 The powder horn is plain with no markings either. I have been told by several people that the horn could be worth more than the gun. I have to add that the gun is not fireable due to a weak spring, the hammer will not stay back unless you hold outward pressure on the trigger because of the weak spring ( may decrease the value some?) Having said all this and beings that the book that I got the info from was over 12 yrs old I would assumethat the value has gone up some???? So for a $ figure I would say I would need to have at least $700 for both pieces. I know that sounds like alot of money that is why I was hoping to find someone who really wanted it and had something that I really wanted other than the cash to trade, say maybe an Evo engine that needed rebuilt or something. If not I will leave it in the box that it is in and bring it out two or three years from now and try again. It would be impossible for me to list everything that I would be interested in taking on trade so please if you have something make me an offer the least I can say is no thanks unless it is completely rediculous then I might use a less respectful phrase. Thanks for Looking Dan
