I've read far too much about people on here "putting up their bikes for winter". The very thought of my fellow enthusiasts pulling out the old battery tender makes me shudder.

To combat this travesty, I'm starting a new club, Bikers for Global Warming. The BGW will ensure that we all enjoy a longer riding season. Our representatives will lobby Congress to find out what we can do to speed up global warming, not stop it.

Details to follow.

P.S. 'Course, ya'll living down there in Florida, or way out there in Arizona, may take issue with our cause come July/August.

I need some advice. I bought my 2009 Road King Classic back in June. The leather saddle bags had a nasty scratch from someone throwing their leg over that did not quit make it. The dealer was cool about changing the bags but instead of ordering new ones, they took bags off a bike on the sales floor. Now the leather is coming loose from the top of both bags and really looks like crap. I have tried everything from leather treatment and every other thing to try to stretch the leather back out but it just isn't working. Should I suck it up or go back to the dealer and request replacement of the bags? What would you do? Thanks.

I am a lucky sob I guess. A friend and myself were running down the interstate a couple of weeks...

I am a lucky sob I guess. A friend and myself were running down the interstate a couple of weeks ago, somewhere between 80 and 90 mph. (in a hurry to get home) I started having an annoying feeling on my right leg around the outside of my thigh. It was fairly cold and I was wearing chaps. I set my throttle lock and reached down to investigate the problem. It seems as though my chaps had either came unzipped or they had broken, they were loose and beating my leg to hell and back. I decided to get off at the next exit and remove the chaps. The next thing I know the chaps are sliding up my leg. I set the throttle lock again, grabbed the chaps and ripped them from my right leg. I put them across my lap, dumb ass move, I as I released the throttle lock, the chaps flew around me and were flapping in the wind behind me. I didn't want them to mess my paint up, seeing my exit ahead, I released the throttle, pulled the clutch in and proceeded to grab the chaps. Now the scarey part begins...The chaps got into the rear brake caliper and locked the rear wheel up. I was still moving at a high rate of speed. The scoot started sliding all over the road. I thought I was going to crash. I felt that I was going to lay the scoot down and probably get hurt too. It slid for quite aways before getting into the grass on the side of the road. When the rear tire hit the grass I done a 180 and was sliding down the side of the road backwards.(almost in the ditch) It finally came a stop. I never laid the scoot down and no damage was done. I had to cut the chaps off with a knife and then rev the engine and dump the clutch several times to get the chaps loose from the brake caliper. We checked evrything out and there appeared to be no damage. Nothing was bent and the brakes worked fine. We road on home, about another 80 miles. I am one lucky sob and I learned a valuble lesson. When you are on two wheels and a problem arises, do not wait for the next exit, next road, next anything, stop roght then and there to fix the problem. I hope you learned something from my experience.....ride to live live to ride!

Went to Jerome AZ up north (cold as hell right now). Went to the Spirit Room. On the way home..stopped at a gas station, as soon as we left the station the race was on. :icon_tongue:

I was trying to catch up to the Sarg@Arms and another prospect. The cop told me when those 2 flew passed him his radar was off, he guessed 110mph+ for them.. so he didn't even try to catch up to them. Rolled down his windows and heard me coming down the freeway like thunder. :icon_teeth:

My Speedo was buried past 120 coming down the mountain when I saw his front end sticking out from the bushes. I hit the rev limiter once, backed off the throttle just a hair and kept it there. I was suprised the motor stayed together to tell you the truth!!!! :icon_banana: :icon_mrgreen:

Told me to pas on some info to them instead of taking me to jail, impounding my bike, many fines and fees ect. :icon_banana::icon_banana::icon_banana:

LEO was very cool about the whole situation. No cars were out. So we chatted for a while.

LUCKY MAN I AM!!!!

Not all Cops are bad people, this one is LEO of the year in my book.

It was a dick move on my part but when your rollin with the boys you forget the laws when you have the road to yourself...

I thanked him many times for the Get Out of Jail free card.

Very cool guy...

I got lucky, any Phx LEO would have thrown all the books at me.

LUCK I tell you... LUCK!!!

My front end starts to wobble at 98 or so... it goes away when you hit 115 :icon_mrgreen:

To all our friends in Canada,

My wife usually watches some TV show, I think its called House Hunters or First Time Home Buyers on some reality TV show, while I'm reading the paper, a magazine, or looking at the new 10 P&A H-D catalog.

Last nite, and the nite b/4 she was watching a show which featured the real estate market in Toronto, Canada. Some of the homes featured blew me away. I thought the prices were a little over the top. 2100 sq. ft. homes were upwards of $700 large! Whew!

I gotta tell ya, I sure do have the utmost respect for our Canadian friends... What I have gathered from my trips to Montreal, and what I've seen on T.V., your homes are very expensive. I hear your income taxes and other social and real estate taxes are outrageous. On top of that, your winters are long...

BTW, I luv Canada. Beautiful country!!!

I don't know how you do it, but God Bless ya Big Fellas.
