For those of you that are using a Mustang backrest bracket from an 07 or earlier model year and want to use the setup on a newer bike, like I did with my 2010 EG Classic, Mustang has a bracket adaptor that will work. It only costs $20.00 and it is Part: FL 09 DBR kit support bracket USA #B30113. This part does not show up on their website. It is better than buying a whole new bracket for 90 bucks.

Hope this helps,

Does anyone know about the only seat T that has a cast serial number on it, 51912-35? Bruce Palmer claims in his book that this T bar was manufactured by Harley for late fifties bikes but doesn't give a date. Can anyone verify that this is a fact and prove that the information comes from a Harley source because it also looks too old to be made that late... Thanks,

I have read alot of threads about flushing the oil system during an oil change by using one of the...

I have read alot of threads about flushing the oil system during an oil change by using one of the fancy flush systems, or by the use of cheap oil an some type of additive(i.e. diesel, foam, engine flush). I must also add that I am disappointed in some of the post against such a good practice. I have been rebuilding engins for almost 12years, mostly rotary, and it has been proven that flushing these engines may get you 60k or even 80k more live out of them. I am not sure, mileage wise, about the big twins cause I have only had the opportunity to work with these for a few years, but the bearings, seals, and rings are made of the same materials as the rotarys and any other engine for that matter, and every since I first started riding, I flush with every oil change, with no problems so far.
It simple the more contaminates you get out the longer and stronger you oil will perform, if you need proof send off a few samples for an analysis. The best method is to use a generic flushing system. The one thing I will never suggest is to use any chemicals to flush out an engine. This causes leaks and swolen o-rings and seals. But the best thing i have ever used is diesel fuel, even the ULSD works well at cleaning, just dont use it straight 2 quarts oil 2 quarts diesel, let idle for 5 min, do this every 10k, and flush with a flush kit every other oil change. Worked well on rotarys, and I feel totaly safe doing this to my own bike.

I want to put some slip ons that will retain the OEM look to my Softail Convertible. I am not in need of large amounts of additional power as the 110 has more than enough for me. I am more concerned with (moderate) sound and keeping the stock look.

I had the new SE slip ons on a 96" motor and they were not loud enough, I was told they would be louder on the 110".

Any other suggestions would be great.

Thanks
