Default RE: Ultima 107" motor on a 90 model Bagger

They have a warranty that covers parts
Doesn't cover labor and that can quickly
add upon a rebuild. And check how long
the warranty period is and themilage clause

Default RE: Ultima 107" motor on a 90 model Bagger

Hey fellas,

Got everything done, straight by the book. However, It wouldn't crank on the first try. Ran the battery down trying. It popped and spit a couple times but never fired off. Checked the timing, did not change anything, just looked where it was set. Getting gas and the coil is firing the plugs, so I must have flooded it or i never got enough gas to fire it . Charging the battery until I get home from work tomorrow and try it again. Anyone with any suggestions ?

What about it Goat? Did you have any problems getting your 113" to start on the first start up ?

Make sure your battery is fully charged ! They don't like to fire with a week battery . I would keep the charger on the battery or a set of jumper cables on it while trying to start it just to give a little extra . Make sure you put it through the proper heat cycles . Let me know how it turnes out .

I had a weak battery as well. Left the charger on it and it fired right up. Like I said before, I did install the VOES with it even though the book said you didn't need to. Not sure if that makes a difference or not in starting but that is what I did.

The Goat,

I hooked up the VOES also. Charger has been hooked up all night and should have the battery hot when I get home from work.

Thanks

Hey all,

All is well. My dumba$$ had the coil wires reversed so the back was fireing when the front was supposed to and the front when the back was suppose to. Changed the wires and she came to life putting a big smile onan old mans face. Done a couple heat cycles so far . Should get a couple more tonight. Thanks everyone for the support and help.

Sounds like you are good to go ! Now get that thing broken in so you can feel the power . For the first little bit ride it where it feels the smoothest . Make sure not to lug it . Best of all have fun !
