I'm trying to figure out exactly what I have, I do know it has a 1550 motor with a Mikuni carb HRS 42 and K&N air intake. What does this tell you, its certainly not stock. Can someone explain what was done and the approximate cost of what a dealer would charge for the work done.

you have a 95", with mik 42 and K&N air cleaner LOL. no way of knowing if you have head work or cams etc. put it on a dyno and see what power you have. Try and locate the previous owner.
197 posts and you're just now gettin around to figuring out what you've been ridin? Dude! And what the hell is a 1550 motor , I've never seen that down here,LOL!

Impossible request. What year is the Deuce? There are a couple of things you can do to try and pin things down; depending on how far you want to go.
Run a compression test and get your static CR. This will tell you something.
Pull the cam cover; gear drives or the stock chain drive?
Pull the cam plate; if the cams will be stamped for identification.
Has a fuel management system been added?
As previously suggested, have a couple of pulls on a dyno done to get the TQ/HP.
With the above information, you can make some reasonable assumptions.

I guess the question I have is 95" and Mikuni 42 with K&N are not stock... Why would one go through all the effort to increase displacement and not do cams. Why would someone change out the carb, I can under stand carb failure but would assume with only 12000 on the clock this is not the case, is the mik 42 an upgrade

WTF does post count have to do with anything...I do know what I have I'm just trying to get specifics...1550 = 95" ....361 posts and you don't know that
Why would someone increase displacement and not do cams? Budget. Our local Harley shop offers "big bore upgrade" specials. All they are doing is the jugs and pistons. No head work, no cams.
Ideally you would do jugs, headwork, and cams to match. The suggestion to try to track down the previous owner is a good one. If you bought it from a dealer, they should have that contact info. If they won't give it to you, ask them to contact the previous owner for you to ask if it is ok for you to call.
I would bet there are more 95 stage 1 bikes out there than any other. It is common to just go 95 with nothing else. the mik 42 is considered an upgrade by some, generally gives a little better throttle response. some people tend to build motors in stages ie first 95, then cams then head work. Not the best way to do it but that is what a lot of people do.

Easy sunshine just messin with ya. I still don't know what 5.7, 6.4, or a 4.3 litre motor size means to me and i know the rest of the world does, I am just a sloooooow learner.

See now, 10 minutes after I read that I will have forgotten what that means again, old well the old ways die hard. I still think of things in the old ways 74", 80" ,88" 283" 289" 302" and so forth. Guess I'll never really be able to "think" how the cc method relates to ci without doin the math.
