As we have a fully equipped machine shop, we have made our own over the years.

Dedicated fixturing that allows Iron XL bolt patterns to 3.500" bore, another for Shovel, Evo XL's and Evo's to 3.8125", another for OE Harley bolt patterned T/C's to 4.250", as well as yet another for the 4 1/8" S&S bolt circle. Straight within .0005", and the flange/bore perpindicularity is held within .0002", prior to the Sunnen hone. Yes, we STILL do, after 25 plus years of success using the same method. When the tooling gets pulled from that lathe(we have 5), then raw manufacturing can be performed, thus eliminating the need for senseless, multiple machine tools, that are locked into performing only one task, ie "boring bar". What makes you ask that question??

just courios, you say " full machine shop",dont really know anybody boring cylinders in a lathe,(not a real good way to do it)guess everyother engine machine shop wasted $$ on buying the sensless, proper equipment(ie. boring bars & sunnen hones),by the way, went on your site,"fastest 8 second gas bike in NY",i think tony mattioli & joe tudor might have a prob with that (both low 8`s),we were running 8.20`s on gas in `98,and had the fastest 3 speed gas harley until around `04.went thru a stack of drag times,HARM,performance motorcycle magazines, must have missed you guys, checked AMRA,AHDRA,ECRA & ADBA,nothing,we raced AHDRA & AMRA on gas from 1984-2006,dont remember you guys, what was the best times, national wins,if you could too, explaine the 2 D carbs going into 1(looks like about 1.800 or 1.900 holes) on your manifold?2 carbs that would flow about 350 cfm into a manifold thatll flow about,what,190 at best

If you continue to check out our site you may learn a thing or 3, and BTW, had a set of your heads in our shop, and we were wondering, why in the livin' hell would someone install 1.940" valves on 1.900" seats???????????????????????? Got any answers for that, son.
Continue this line of harrassment towards us, and the mods will have your a$$ off here, quicker than a rabbit gets fu(ked which I can assure you of.

Coming from a machinist if you can get straightness w/i .0005" and perp. w/i .0002" I don't see where it matters if you did it with your pocket knife. Thats good manufacturing sense. Multiple utilization of a machine tool.

wasnt our heads(who said they where??),we replace the seats when using 1.940 valves.so im guessn hyperformance, axtell, zippers, strouds racing and the rest are using lathes for cylinder boring??!! as far as not having "sensless" machines,YOU HAVE 5 LATHES,wouldnt 1 boring bar make more sense???? (lets see a pic of the 5 lathes.too,)still waiting on the racing results too,no "harassment",just asking questions.

Just a word of warning here. Hillside is a Sponsor here on HDF. I won't allow another company (who is not a sponsor) to jump in on threads to discredit them. If you have a problem you need to keep it off the forum................period.
