After coming off hwy for approx 30 to 40 mins the bike died for no reason.Would only restart once on berm of road after shutting ignition off, then turning ign switch back on. Anyone have this happen?and what was the cure? The bike is an 07 SG.It died while still rolling.

Knock on wood...this has never happened to me. My first peek would be on the ECM connections then over to the coil.

The cure should be a phone call to the dealer. Come pick up my new bike that quit running and call me after you fix it.....................BG

Are you sure you want to rely on YOUR dealer?
You can read the trouble codes yourself without clearing them.

See this link http://www.hdforums.com/m_327240/tm.htm.

I would read the codes myself and make a note of them before taking the bike in.

When you take it in for service see if they come up with the same codes. It would be a way of checking if they are just BS.

Had a friends bike stall on a ride with us the other day--wouldnt restart . This was after about a hour riding. Found code , I think it was po373 intermittmwnt crank sensor ---Installed new sensor and problems hasnt re-ocurred. I agree with RoadGlide07, read your codes . Good luck on your bike. Haver a great day.

My problem (07 Ultra) was similar, not identical - after long run the engine just died, would restart and run if throttle feathered while hot, would run fine when "cold" appears to be the Idle Control Sensor (based on diagnostic codes).
