Default No Speakers after downshift

Well, I'll take this to the dealer Tuesday but for your consideration:

09 Street Glide with HK stereo, Hogtunes speaker upgrade, Tweeterpod, and; dealer installed 2 days ago, Hogtunes amp. The new amp makes for a lot better sound quality.

Just riding along today with ZZ Top on low volume and downshifted from 5th to 4th. Immediately the speakers shut off. Still have the display in the window. Tried all modes and no sound. When I shut off the bike at home the instruments and digital odometer were still illuminated. I pushed in the lighter and the instrument lights extinguished. I know the amp is wired to the cigar lighter and that's why I tried pushing the lighter in.

Any ideas? Is there a circuit breaker I should be checking?

Did the amp slide when you were slowing down? Possibly disconnecting some wires?

You know, I've built all manner of boats, race cars and worked (illegally) on airplanes (mine). But all the mechanical work on this bike has been done by the dealer, 3500 miles since new in March, so I cannot even visualize the wiring possibilities or component placement. I think a wire came unplugged but the issue with the instrument lights puzzles me.

I'm not an expert on the Hog Tunes, but I seem to recall reading that the amp mounts on top of the factory head unit.
If this is true, and they did a half ass job of securing it, it could have slid, unplugging all manner of things, or messing up some wires.

It's just a random guess tho... dunno what you'll find.

Dunno how much this will tell you with all the other stuff attached {which is probably the problem: something unhooked/disconn'ed in the amp to speaker or source to amp} but try this:

RADIO DIAGNOSTICS

To enter the radio diagnostic mode, press any two (2) station preset buttons simultaneously while turning ignition on. There are five (5) diagnostic modes (D1-D5) plus Automatic Volume Control (AVC) setting. Digits will change from 0 to 1 when function button is operated [or 1 for ON and 0 for OFF as applicable]. If digit does not change, there is either a short or open on that circuit (see Service Manual or ED for codes). To cycle through the various diagnostics, use the LO/DX button.

D1: Switch Function Mode will display a five (5) digit binary code at the top of the LCD.
Digit 1=Mode set, up & down
Digit 2=FPTT, RPTT, Volume up & down
Digit 3=Audio in, Squelch-, Eject
Digit 4=Audio-, Squelch+
Digit5=Audio+

D2: LCD displays an 8-digit code
Digit 1=PTT microphone Digit 2=Vehicle speed Digit 3=VOX break Digit 4=CB SQ break Digit 5=IC on/off Digit 6=CB on/off Digit 7=SPKR SW B Digit 8=SPKR SW A

D3: LCD function=Illuminates all display items in LCD.

D4: Model year=Select model year as prompted.

D5: Software=Displays software information

AVC: Automatic Volume Control=Adjusts volume to engine speed. 0 to 4 range with 2 the factory setting and 4 being the most aggressive setting.

Got into the dealer today and he had it fixed in an hour. A wire from the amp had been pinched off. The reason for the cigar lighter shutting off the lingering dash lights was that the circuit was looking for a ground that was only available thru the (pinched off) wire. Pushing in the lighter completed the circuit and gave the signal to shut down the dashboard electricals.
