So does the HD dealers do this type of tune after you add pipes and air cleaner? Would one be better off to let a good "tuner" do it all? (09 St.glide in question)

There are some dealers that will tune your bike correctly but for the most part, the dealers tend to work with the canned maps and get the tune done as fast as they can. Again I am not putting all dealers or even all tuners into one lump sum.

This year we now have done over 200 tunes ( thanks DOC!!!!) and I have done a fair amount of re-tunes. The WOT deal is so little of what you are doing when riding , vs the low to mid range. This is where the largest amount of time is consumed while creating a custom map for your bike. This is also the area that seems to be the most over looked.

Doc once said ( something like this ) " those that have not ridden a properly tuned bike have no idea of what a good tune is like" meaning that many think there bike is tuned but without a back to back they have nothing to compare it to. A correctly tuned bike is not about time, how many runs etc. The bike is tuned when you have the engine running smooth, it transitions smoothly from any where in the rpm range, does not ping. Even when we try to make it it ping. Now that type of tune is going to take 3-5 hours depending on what you are tuning, what tuner you use etc. Myself do not understand why tuners will not give the owners a copy of the map. I could care less, it is a one off item that is for that bike only. You have a better chance at winning the lotto than having that map work 100% in another bike. Just that way it is.

Default Question about new SE Pro tuner

I have a 2004 Heritage with the big bore and Andrews 37 gears. In August I purchased the new Screaming Eagle Pro tuner. It is supposed to be the newest tuner. My dyno guy, who incidently answered all 7 questions correctly, asked if I had the cable and CD. Also, he doesn't have the newest drivers for this new tuner. Do you know where he can get that driver? Thanks Doc for your help.

Software and cables are purchased from the dealer.... Unless you know someone that can burn you a copy of the software, and 1 of the cables is a usb printer cable, the other cable is kinda proprietary...
