I have a question about switches. If a switch say it can handle 5A at 120v, then does that mean it can handle 50A at 12V? Or is that not how it works? If not, what is the correct answer and how do you figure it out? Thanks.

If you use a relay you can use the small switch. The switch would power the relay, you use a relay that is rated for a higher current, and the relay powers the equipment/accessory. This is tipically how equipment/accessories with higher current loads are wired. For example the starting circuit on the bike. The start button on the handle bars are not rated for the current the starter uses so a start relay is used.

Yeah I might do that, but I'm not sure if I'll have space, that's why I was asking about the switch. Maybe if I move some things around, I might be able to make it work. We'll see. Thanks.
