Just wondering who has had to take their 07 in for the factory recall,ECM re-map, Moco calls it "Torque Smoothing".[:@] If ya have what differencees did you notice, if any. Anyone got ideas on exaclty what they have changed on the stock map.
I can't tell you what changed because I didn't have my bike long when I had it done. I couldn't tell a difference to be honest. They didn't even contact me about it. I was at the dealership with a buddy one day while he was getting his 1K service done. We overheard someone mention this remap so I asked the service manager about it. He went and checked some list he had and my name/bike was on it. They pulled my bike right in and in 10 minutes it was done. To this day, I never received a notice to go get it done. I do remember them telling me it had something to do with making it run smoother but I have no idea what the map actually did to control that.

S.G.T.
Go to the HD website and go to the service section and enter your vin number. It will tell you if your bike has the recall

ORIGINAL: my07dyna
Went to the HD page under service and typed in my VIN and it told me to contact my dealer because my bike was on the list, showed the dealer a copy of the printout and they looked at me like what planet you from.
where are you guys finding this feature? i've looked over the website a million times and i cant find a place to type in my VIN and get a list of recalls.
The improvement is less vibration and thumping. Before the change I would shift into 6th at 75 mph due to the vibrations. I normlly would stay in 5th for most of the ride.
With the upgrade I now can ride at 65mph in 6th with no vibration dectectable. 5th has a little more now but very acceptable.
Ok, I entered my VIN and my next service interval (5K) checklist came up. Nothing else. Does my bike need this re-map or not? It is an 07 Dyna....
I notice this thread began back in October of 2006. I took delivery of my 07 FXDB in May of this year. It has been in for the 1K service and I checked the maintenance sheet - no mention of recall maintenance being performed or needed.
The Harley-Davidson Factory Service Bulletin, # M-1186, was issued November 20,2006. (see this URL that I found: http://www.cvoharley.com/yabb2/Attachments/M1186.pdf)
Once this issue was known to Harley-Davidson, they incorporated the ECM software change on the production line. If you type in your VIN on the Harley-Davidson site andnothing comes up for this Service Bulletin for your bike, then you're okay - your bike would have been manufactured after the software update was incorporated onto the production line. I have a 2007 Super Glide Custom that I bought new out of the crate on April 21, 2007 and entering my VIN on the H-D website turned up nothing other than the nextservice that's due is the 5,000 mileone.
