Bought first 07 Ultra to hit floor in Birmingham, Alabama, installed Vance and Hines pipe and upgrade air filter. Bought power commander and when they took bike to service area, they found out that they could not install power commander because they had to be recalibrated for the new engines. I asked and they gave me the download until power commander came in 2 months later. I took bike in and they put it on Dyno and installed power commander. they showed me the readings before and after and I only gained one horsepower and one foot pound of torque with the power commander. I thought it was a waste since I can tell no power difference. After I got the ecm bulletin in mail, I took my bike in and they told me that the power commander toom the place of the torque calibration and I did not need to do anything. I did buy 6 year extended warranty just in case engine "goes bad" Bldr

Sounds okay, I went with the SERT in the end. Currently run'n a canned 103' map, with decel enleanment values cut in half. Bike seems to be run'n a lot better now and def run'n cooler.
I am interested to know what numbers the dyno showed as well Bldr.

Just had mine done yesturday. No big difference but there is a difference. It does seem to run a tad smoother but that's about it.

I am having similar problems. I have a 07 nightrain with the stage one upgrade. I noticed a pinging in highter gears under a serious load. I asked two dealers and heard from some that i didnt even need to power commander to install pipes. i looked and found that the dealer that installed my kit didnt install the 02 sensor elimators. So as advised, I unplugged the PCIII to see if the pinging was gone.No good. So i tried to plug back in the PCIII, and now i musted have lost the download into it. Is it easy enough to do from my home computer?

Stix,
I'm in Oz too, I had the download done at approx 1200k's, noticed the difference on the 90k ride home. It stopped the pinging which had had me concerned for a while, used to do that when I gave the throttle a big twist, now it pulls away like it should. Took it on a 2000k run shortly after having it done and I'm much happier. That trip was with a mate who hasn't had it done yet and he kept saying he was pinging a bit in the hills we were in.....
If you haven't had it done, get it imo....
cheers

G'day Stix

I just noticed you are on 99 posts, so i thought I might reply, so you can reply to mine for your 100th post!

Well, also, I have 07 super glide, i note you started this thread in nov last year, anyone know if the download requirement was fixed/rectified or whatever for more recent units. I got my bike from the states end of May.

As yet I have done no mods on engine. I have k&n 3909 waiting to go on, and will be puting on pipes at some stage. All this depending on the latest about PCIII, SERT, TMAT, DTT, TV etc. Hard choice for someone new to HD.

Justtook inmy 07 Heritage in for 5,000 mile servicing and asked about the pingning when passing on highway. Was told there were lots of complaints about this problem and the moco has begun the recalibration on certain models but not the Heritage as of yesterday. Anyways thought I would try something and removed my air cleaner cover and took it out for a run. Ran it under same conditions as previously and never once had the problem. So whats up? If the problem is because it isfactory set to run leaner then the problem should have become worse not disappeared altogether. I am no rocket scientest but more air due to less restrictionand the same fuel quantity =leaner mixture does it not.
