Default Trouble with Power Commander?

A couple of months ago I made two changes to my 09 FXDB at about the same time. I installed a Power Commander V (using the rush slip-on map) and I removed the wraps from the baffles in my Rush slip-ons. It runs fine, but it's harder to get it cranked now. Seems kinda lean on starting, mostly since giving it gas helps, but it's definitely a rougher start than I used to have. I considered taking it to one of the Dyna Research Tuning Centers, but $250 for a custom map when I really have made many mods to the bike seems pretty steep.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Jim

The PC-V has a seperate start up circuit that allows for adjustment of AFR for bikes in your situation.

hi,
I think that your supposed to press the starter right after ignition and not wait for the engine light to go off before cranking the starter as on a stock bike. Something to do with the way the PC gets its power.
Mine starts straight away doing this, if I wait for the engine light to go off then crank the starter it starts the way you describe.
Hope this helps,
Jeff

I never fire up my bike as soon as I turn the key, I let the fuel system prime then start it. Never had a problem doing it this way, it always fires right up whether it's hot or cold.

I have a PC III and adjustments to the "Start Fuel" feature resolved it for me.

A+ on this. I was having the exact same problem. Talked with Jamie @ fuelmoto, and he explained this to me, and the technical jargon that goes with it. I forget the exact explanation, but he told me to just start it right up after the ignition is turned on, and he guaranteed me that this will not hurt the bike in anyway. I've been doing that ever since then, and no problems at all, and it cranks right over every time! If there's anybody here who's advice that I trust it's Jamie's, so I'm doing as he suggested.

Too me this sounds like a band aid for a poorly tuned PC. As I said before, I've never had a start up issue and I always wait for the system to prime.
