I installed the HD foot pegs with heel rests on my new Wide Glide and the left side is perfect but I can't get comfortable on the right side. I do not want to go forward any as I have a 30 inch inseam. I was wondering if there is any type of adapter that might move my peg a little to the side or even back just a little. I keep wanting to put my heel against the exhaust and I am constantly checking it. I know the air cleaner is pushing my leg out just a little and that is probably part of my problem. I want to mention again the left side is perfect its only the right side bothering me. Thanks for your comments.

I had the same issues with my WG and positioning.....I went with mini floor boards and solved it immediately (I also got a reach seat later on and it got even better)
i have the same issue. I think i'm starting to get used to it. This is my first bike with forward controls and my other bike has floor boards. I like the stock seat, so changing it is not a option. Let us know if you come up with a fix.

I don't have that problem on my WideGlide (I'm 6'2" with a 34+ inch inseam), but I do a lot of long 'all day' runs, and it does get tiresome having only one foot position available.
Besides the standard forward controls I also have the chrome frame mounted mid-type pegs on the WG.
Not sure if something like this would help you any, but with your shorter 30" inseam it might offer a secondary, more comfortable position...
With the mid-pegs up;
With the mid-pegs down;

Whimmer makes lot's of air cleaners that are smaller than stock and will probably be out of the way for you vertically challenged. $$$ though. MY RSD is completely out of the way however I have a long inseam. I do recall I used to touch the old football air cleaner cover(even with a 34 inseam). Bet a round air cleaner would help a lot.
+1 on mini-floorboards. They give you a lot of options on foot and leg position. Get rid of the football air cleaner cover - replace it with a round one, or something else to get it out of your way.
The other answer is - it feels weird at first, but you get used to it.

I would make some spacers and get longer bolts for where the right bracket bolts to the frame. You should be able to just unbolt the bracket and hold it out there to see how far you can go before the linkage would rub on the exhaust or if something else interferes with it. I did this with my highway pegs. I used 1" long spacers I made from some bushing material and it worked perfectly for me.
