Default Question fot a K&N Air Filter Kit for Dyna Lowrider 09

Hi all,
I would like to buy a high flow air filter for my HD FXDL 09 but without change the original oval airfilter cover! at the web site below, it shows the full kit!

http://store.knfilters.com/search/pr...x?Prod=RK-3931
and also the air filter replacement only

http://store.knfilters.com/search/pr...px?Prod=E-3975

My silly question is: Do i need to buy the fully kit or just buy the air filter replacement only.
My 09 Lowrider is installed the V&H straightshot slipons muffler and quiet baffle with the fuelpak installed and set at the required the cond. above with a high flow airfilter (not buy yet). At the current, the sound is great with a small poping at the decel! Please any suggestion it is really help me to understand more in our HD world!
Thanks in advanced.

Need?? for posing or performance? If you want optimum street performance, do not buy any AC.

If you insist on a free flow, regardless of reduced filtering, then you will need a better tuner to take advantage of it.

If you want the best WOT HP, don't run a filter at all and tune it. with something more sophisticated.

If you want posing, it don't matter, do what feels good for you.

I have that filter along with rush 2.0 slipons and I was highly suggested to retune the bike. I did so with the SERT and the bike gained a LOT of power still retaing its torque.
Very satisfied!

If your gonna keep your stock air cleaner cover, I would just get the replacement filter over the stage 1 kit.

If I can pitch in:
The whole K&N setup also included a backplate which allows for more air to flow through. If you really want the advantage of a Stage 1, you will need the whole kit.
Only going for the filter won't do you much aside from getting a better filter.

I also read somewhere that the quality of the K&N complete kit isn't always like it should be. I've read about people complaining that the original "football cover" doesn't always fit the new backplate that comes with the complete K&N kit.
Those posts were rather old, so maybe they adressed already...

I had no problem with fitting and I'm quite happy with the overall quality.

I'm thinking this is the filter you need. It's the replacement for the Screaming Eagle filter.

Yea, that's the filter I have...it replaces the HD SE filter. I think the OP is wanting to replace the stock filter (non SE filter) with the K&N product.

According to the K&N website, it has a different part number? (HD-9608)
