Default Help With Triple Tree Upper Clamp Riser Bolts

Hey guys, I need some quick help with my '09 Street Bob. Basically I am replacing the Triple Tree Upper Clamp so I can put on my Fat Bob Risers and Drag Bars (see origial post here). I ordered and have the upper clamp, risers and bars but unfortunately I do not have the bolts that connect the rises to the triple tree upper clamp. I'm looking for the name of these bolts and/or an HD part number if possible.

I'm not sure how well I am explaining this so please take a look at the two images below...

I need the two bolts that hold the risers in place, where the pen is in the second image. Unfortunately the risers are molded into the '09 Street Bob upper clamp so my bike doesn't have these bolts.

On an '03 Dyna, the bolt is a 1/2 inch - 13. It is 2 & 3/4 inches long and has a hex head. Grade 5. I'd suggest taking one of the risers to Menards or Home depot and finding a bolt with the correct threads. It should be fairly easy to figure out the length you need. Rest the riser on the tripple tree and measure the depth making sure you leave at least 1/8 inch to prevent the bolt from botoming out in the riser.

You will need more than just two bolts. Just locate and purchase a riser insatall kit. Which includes the rubber or neoprene bushings, bolts and washer that you will need.

Take a look here: http://www.jpcycles.com/Search/Searc...mper&x=12&y=16

+1 on this

I do this at ACE all the time, they also have Grade 8 in everything I could ever need.

Hey when you're done with this mod could you post pics and part numbers and a total cost? Been thinking about doing this.

Was planning on doing this. Here are the part numbers for reference, I bought all of my parts from Zanotti, saved a boat-load over Harley MSRP.

55977-09 - $131.40 - Fat Bob Drag Bars
55996-09 - $101.40 - Fat Bob Risers
45538-08 - $231.65 - Triple Tree Upper Clamp

and I'm trying to track down a riser install kit, I'll post info once I choose/buy one... looking for something local (Houston) as I have a benefit ride this weekend.

Either bring one of your risers to a hardware store to match the threads..and the bolt is pretty long. I believe someone said 2.75". That sounds about right.

OR

Go to the dealer and buy the chrome riser bolt kit. $20 or so.

I have a 09 bob with forward controls, sundowner solo seat, new triple clamp and 10inc
T bars. I can sit on the bike all day and what a huge difference in handling.
