I'd stick with the 2". Less clearance issues regarding top tree. I have a 3" and I had to elongate the rear tank mount hole to be able to slide the tank back just a bit more for clearance.
Then because of the amoutn I had to pull the tank back, it caused clearance issues when I wanted to mount a Mustang Solo seat. I had to move the tank just a bit forward to mount the seat. I had like 1/8" clearance between tank and tree.
Pic of the elongated rear mount...I was beginning to drill it, notice the drill mark in front of the mount hole.

2" Tank Lift, 8" Risers (Stock FXDF are 5")
A bit close up but, sig pic shows with same from side rear angle. Had to put a longer clutch cable on with the taller risers, but used the existing throttle cables and front brake lines. A little tweaking on the brake lines at the splitter manifold under the lower tripple tree.
And I already know the chrome needs cleaned up in that pic, the last time I posted .... aw crap.

I have the 2" lift. My turn signals don't hit but I spoke to one other guy that had to rotate his handlebars a bit to keep his from touching. My left signal comes really close, within 1/4" but no touch and on the right side the throttle cables do touch, but not the signal. No big deal.

My signals hit originally, but I just changed the angle on my grips/signals/controls a bit, and they cleared.
One note of caution about the throttle cables touching. Mine did, but I didn't worry about it. However, I ride year round, and the combination of the cables rubbing against the tank when there was dirt/grit on the tank in the winter wore through the paint.
Once I noticed that, I used a zip tie to lift the cables up enough so that they don't touch the tank at all. I just wish I had figured that out before I scuffed the tank.
