Thumbs up Dynos for Dynas

It may be presumptuous of me being a fng here, but I noticed that the softail and bagger guys have stickied dyno threads. Doesn't make sense for the "slow" bikes to have dedicated dyno threads and the hot rod Dynas don't. If a mod would sticky this, s'il vous plait...

I'll start. 103 Stage III (10.5 pistons, 251 cams, valve springs, SERT), Heavy breather, Khrome Werks slip-ons. HP 91.55 TQ 104.71

Not a bad idea, although I don't think dyno #s mean much, as there's so many variables, but I'll contribute!

I agree in IF you are trying to compare one persons mods to another persons on Different Dyno's run under Different Ambient conditions. Between the difference in the Dynos and the effects of the Weather you can't tell much.

However if everyone trys to post up the information with a before and after on the same day, whenever possible, and note the following.
1> What were the changes to the Bike on the Before and after runs. Was it a matter of bolting on parts and then getting it tuned or was it a build up and if so what was the original condition of the previous motor
2> What was the difference in the Ambient conditions, colder warmer barometric pressure higher of lower etc.

A lot of this will be included on the Dyno chart but sometimes they are hard to read and it is usually unclear exactly what mods were done.
The original poster with the 103cu in motor build shows some real nice gains but it was unclear to me if the two charts are his original motor.... was it stock or??

Bottom line is it can be a real good tool for seeing a percentage change of a given set of mods to the same bike done on the same dyno under at least similar ambient conditions. Comparing different bikes on different dynos though is not apples to apples.

Had mine dyno'ed Saturday...no tuning, just put on the dyno.

With HD stage 1 intake, HD download and V&H sideshots, it did 66.34rwhp 78.55rwtq

Changed air filters to a Zippers filter, it's 5/8" deeper for more surface area, and put right back on the dyno. It was 67.10rwhp and 78.83 rwtq.

My numbers seem a bit low ...I'm going back this Wednesday to have a SERT installed and have it dyno tuned...I'll follow up with the new numbers and post the dyno sheets then.

In some cases I strongly disagree.

Look at my sheets and look at this one. Same head porter, same cams, different carb, different builder, different tuner, different state, very similar numbers.

'06 WFOLarry ported TC heads, stock valves and springs (and quench grooves)
95" SE flat tops
82cc head chamber and .030" cometic head gasket
Andrews TW37b cams
44CV carb running 46 pilot (3 turns out), 195 main, spring supplied by Larry and N8EL lean needle
Zippers filter upgrade on SE backplate
SE6200 performance ignition
Cycle Shack slip-ons on factory head pipe
