This only has happened twice since I bought my 01 Low Rider. It idles fine runs great and and seems to be tuned up. Every once in a while when rolling up to a stop while down shifting my bike sometimes will sputter when holding the clutch in during a slow roll. It seems like it will happen more around 3rd down to 2nd and if i hold the clutch to long it will go as low to gasp before i roll the throttle. Yesterday when this happened it did stall for the first time. after that i just started again and all was fine the rest of the way. Now this don't happen much at all so that's what gets me ? If was frequent i would lean towards dirty plugs or something ? Any ideas ?

I'm guessing since it is an '01 you have a carb fart going on? A phenomeon no one can figure out, had one with my '02 also. Next question; wll it sit and idle without massaging the throttle? You stated you are rolling with clutch pulled in so not sure what's gong on but I will advise you not to you use downshifting exclusivley to slow your bike down, VERY hard on the clutch. I would set your idle higher (assuming it is carb'd), check air filter first,.. then have someone check your idle/throttle cable adjustment since it seems to be while you are rolling. I have often heard people call the Hypercharger a "horsepower reduction device" so it may be starving it of air.

Carb Fart! LOL... Thats about as close as you can get to exactly what it sounds and feels like. It idles just fine, only during warm up will it need slight throttle roll but after its warm and the enricher is pushed all the way in it idles great. Also, it seems to depend on each situation when slowing weather i just down shift or use both brakes. I will start using breaks a little more. Sounds like the infamous Carb Fart to me ? So if i took it to my shop they would not have a answer for this ? At least i know i am not alone with this! Thanks so much for your help.
Carb farts can be "cured" with proper tuning of the CV carb; if you run out and buy a new carb, THAT one will need jetted also. The stock CV carb is perfectly fine until you get into high-zoot performance where you need mixture beyond it's capability. If you threw on the HyperC without a re-jet (or an insufficient one), that is probably the problem (along with too low idle speed). I recommend a dyno run to check and a book called "How to Build A HD Torque Monster" by Bill Rook for carb tuning you can do to improve CV carb performance/driveability issues (and at low-no cost to you exc. the book!).

Thanks! I bought it with the HyperC so I hope whoever put it on did it with a sufficient re-jet ? This may be a stupid question, but whats a dyno run ? You have to remember I just got back into bikes after a 20 year layover. I just drove it today and it seemed fine, but hate thinking about it happening again, I like to ride my ride without these things in the back of my mind when rolling up to a stop. I found myself trying to do what the guy above suggested about not using down shifting all the time to slow up and it was weird to me because i was over thinking it, lol..
