Default Black heads/ rocker cover

I want to change my rocker covers to black, can you paint them yourself and if so does the bottom one lift of easy enough, or is it better to get a set of a night train or similar.
Cheers.

I got a set of Nitetrain covers cheaper than it would have cost me to powdercoat them.
If you have the service manual you could possibly do it yourself depending on your mechanical ability.
Unfortunately the bottom one doesen't just "lift off easily".

You need a service manual in order to do the lower ones... it involves taking pressure off the rocker arms by adjusting the pistons so that each one is at TDC while you do them.

Did you powdercoat them or paint them with the Harley wrinkle black paint?

i also rock the high gloss black...you will need a dog bone adapter to get them off and on, removing your tank is easiest... but i did not... have pics of the whole process if you need em!
