I did my tank swap about three weeks ago. Mascman you saved me tons of work and anxiety. Great work and pics. Thank you so much. BIG help. I had problems with the fuel gauge connection pins had to splice, soldier, shrink tube. Hated to, but works fine. That was the worst for me. Everything else was cake. Thanks again man.

Mascman enjoyed the writeup here as well, studied it for days before I started mine, along with my manual. Im still dealing with my bike dying issue on my other thread. (tank swap fuel gauge thingie). Did you take off the second line that runs to the pump , not the fuel supply line? I had the green o ring in on the fuel supply, was tehre another o ring on that line? Just curious.

Awesome writeup though, you made my job tons easier.

From the pump, I only think there was that green o-ring.

The other side is attached to the threaded bung that goes through the tank at the disconnect.

Glad the write-up helped!

Nice pics and thanks for the write up. I had mine off about 6 weeks ago for the tank lift an d after I took the dash off the dash mounting plate was covered in rust, yours looks great. So I got curious too and took all that crap out of the tank and those little tabs on the fuel lines in the tank were a bear, you need like 5 hands to pull/pry and hold all at the same time. Anyway I wanted to see my fuel filter too so I pulled it and bought a new one.
