Im on vance n hines 2-2 on my 08 fatbob, plenty loud but i dont think as loud as shortshots or a shorter pipe, but on my 06 1200C, I ran first set of cycle shack slip-ons, which i thought were hella loud for slip-ons. Then I switched to hooker troublemakers on it,which I thought were way louder than anything Ive run including my present setup. Id be interested in some hooker fourbiddens if they ever came along for fatbobs. Im no expert but the shorter the pipe, the louder from what Ive read on here. I took my baffles out of my vance and hines just for a few minutes one day to see what they sounded like, plenty loud, but put them back in, I dont want any damage to the motor running without them, can make for problems in the long run from what i read here, and from what I hear from all the guys here I know that been ridin for 20 plus years.

I'm ordering the Supertrapp Mean Mothers this week. From what I've heard they're plenty loud and have a nice booming hot rod sound. Not sure how true this is but I've also heard they have better performance gains than V&H and some other 2-2 systems. This is going to be the first of what I hope to be many mods for me this winter.

Cycle Shack slip on's or a Thunderheader are the best sound on the cheap to expensive scale, respectively.

mud, thanks for sharing!! nothing wrong with the y-tube sound quality there, lol! your bud's 60in. is a mean mother! what does it run for times? our indy up here had a 160incher on n20 running 7.6's that he ran for a few years, but betwwen racing and his buisness there wasn't enough time, so it was sold to guy in quebec, the same guy who had bought his 103 evo that ran 9.7's. these both were custom built drag bikes.

Dog, he ran 147 something at BonneVille this year. had some ignition problems.

Maybe next year he'll get the record, it's 151.

Checkout Rinehardt's, they have a pretty good bark tho them and they even have baffles unlike a straight pipe. Look on ebay. I got mine for 250 when dennis kirk wanted around 850 for them.
