I had a similar experience. Nothing is like a Thunderheader.

The chrome quality is better than in the past, but not great. The blueing is due to an overly lean mixture. Map it right (not a stage 1 download) and they won't blue too badly.

I have V&H big shots on my 2011WG and love the sound. I'm going to put a 107" BB kit in it this winter and thinking of using Thunderheader when I do. How will the sound compare?

I've got 18k miles on my black Thunderheader. The shields and muffler portion look good, but the head pipes are turning a reddish brown.

That reddish brown is called rust.

My chrome TH rusted on the headpipes from the collector, back about 8". That's why I just painted them hi-heat black.

I love my TH, but the quality of finish stinks.

4 years on my TH and love em, no blueing, I did a stage 1 when I did the exhaust, new aircleaner, and rejetted carb, chrome is holding up great, no blue, but a yellowish hue at the head , rest of chrome is just like the day they were put on

I had two other systems on my bike before the Thunder Header and niether one had the torque the T-Header has. Mine is black, wrapped in the front with no heat shields, no bling just performance.

How long are these wrapped pipes lasting? No experience but heard they cause the pipes to rust up quickly.
