Default FXDP Floorboard Kit on 06 Later Dyna

A few members have requested information on this. This installation is on a 07 Street Bob with stock pipes. I was lucky enough to find kit number 50601-01 in perfect conditionwith all the necessary brackets and hardware. This kit is no longer available from HD but all the individual parts are available for order. However, it is quite costly $600.00-700.00.

The brake side mounts right up with no modification necessary. You remove your current mid peg and bracket and brake pedal and rod and replace with the new parts. The new brake rod is a larger diameter, but the thread into the master cylinder plunger is the same. Youuse the stock lock nut.

The shift side bracket required some modification. On the pre 06 motor there were two bosses to which the bracket mounted. They no longer exist in the same position on the new motors. In order to use the kit bracket you need to orient it in a horizontal position as opposed to vertical. I first mounted the floorboard brackets and floorboards so that I was able to determine the necessary position for the heel/toe shifter spline. I cut the top bolt hole off the bracket and tapered it to the countour of the primary. It does not touch the primary cover so no scratches. Then bolted the shifter bracket to the front floorboard bracket adding a one inch steel spacer. This spacer keeps the shift linkage in a straight line to the rear shifter arm. This required new holes drilled in the floorboard bracket. No big deal. I then fabricated a support brace that runs from the top of the shifter bracket to the rear floorboard bracket. This is the shiney part in the picture. This is just a sample made from light weight strapping metal that allowed me to easily bendto the correct angle.(the bends were very slight.) The final versionis made from 1/4" flatbar primed and painted gloss black. It is quite secure with no flex when using the shifter. I use 3/8 x16allen head hardware to match the stock bolts.

I also fabbed a lightweight bracket to hold the mid shifter spline in place. Painted texture black to match motor color.

Given the demand + scaricity someone should be able to reproduce these in a kit.

The FXDP floorboards are excellent.
Gives the control of mid and comfort of forward controls.
I liked them on my FXDXT and have installed them on my 07 Street Bob.

Had to make the bracket for the shifter in the attached photo.
Same concept different approach.

The brackets for the fb's are available as I was checking on this last Saturday.
You will have to refer to a FXDP parts book. I was using a 2002 FXDP parts book
to check for active numbers.

We have this complete kit in stock at H-D of Lake Charles, Louisiana 337-436-0022. It is a Dyna police bike kit. I am not sure if any of you have had a problem, but the new division Tech from Harley said there was a very bad vibration problem with them. I havent heard any complaints yet. I might try a set on my new Fat Bob and see if it will fit. Yall ride safe. W.G.
