Did your stator make any noise prior to grenading?

&nbsp\\;
No noise at all, I guess copper is so soft one will not notice it being chrushed inside the primary. /Dan B

At least my dealer had not heard about the issue, I told them I had read on the net about the "conversion kit" and some failures, they called the headoffice and they confirmed that there has been some failures and that there is a "conversion kit", but to my knowledge there is no recall.

Dan,

If there was no noise, what are the symptoms?&nbsp\\;

Thanks...

The dumber people think you are, the more surprised they'll be when you kill them.

In my case I have an aftermarket speedometer. It does not have a "check engine" lamp. So I was not aware of the matter until the battery got flat. Just before the battery got flat, I had some backfiring. I guess this was due to that the low voltage got the ECM confused. So with OEM instruments I believe&nbsp\\;one would have an DTC set, that make the check engine lamp lit, and also the low batt symbol to light prior to flat battery.&nbsp\\;/Dan

I'm getting one of those Kuryakyn Informer Flush Mount Gas Guages with a battery volt / amp meter om it - should get an early warning that way if the thing starts to pack up.
