Wow is about the best I have at the moment. I was hoping I was dead wrong on this one. Odd how one can't order an emblem, but one can order CVO bag latches, grips and other items. Come on MoCo, what are you thinking? Gee, somebody will mistake my bike for a CVO, yeah, that's it! Thanks for the Posted and the PM ideas. Perhaps they might be worth those two extra gray hairs I'd get hunting them down.

I could post pics to see what the forum might feel looks better, but that would kill the fun of showing the bike when it's "done" rather than how she looks now. Yeah, I know, done, it's never done. Let's call it 'done enough' then!

And the quest continues.......................

I had the tank on my anniversary 2008 Fatboy replaced recently - paid for it outright as insurance company only wanted to repaint the tank, and had to fight HD to get back my original tank with the emblems. As I told reps from HD, nothing in my original paperwork when I purchased the bike said HD retained ownership of those emblems, I paid for them, and they were my property and if not returned, a police report would be filed and a lawsuit would follow. Harley returned my original tank with the emblems.

Guys on the CVO forum post about the pain in the azz they are to clean around, towels hook the small ears of the letters. I checked into them a while back and it seems they were about $100 each. For a piece of plastic? NFW! I'll look around for the pn # and maybe you just might get lucky and order online through Zanotti or Chicago HD. Also remember they probably wont fit the smaller tank's ...pre 08' if any of you try. Another option are these emblems... They are on a friends bike and I thought he told me they came from a V rod..and they were $60 a side. I'll ask about that too and repost.

I have an 01 Ultra that I thought about changing the tank emblems to something different ... is it as easy as heating up and fishing line? If so, where is a catalog online to find different ones? Sorry for the hijack, just wondering. Good luck to you!

If you want a ride that looks like a CVO, guess you need to buy a CVO.

They are VIN restricted, but in checking the restricted part listing, it shows that HD does not have to send them back. There are a few dealers that do show as having these in stock. However, only one dealer has both for a pair so you may have to find two dealers willing to sell to get a pair, or borrow a VIN number from someone.

I know the CVO key blanks are VIN restricted. There are also certain parts for Police bikes that are restricted.

I wanted to replace a few decals on my bike that a previous owner removed. Mostly the "Road King Police" label under the tach, and the label on the air cleaner. I was able to get the tach bracket label, but couldn't get the air cleaner cover label.

Probably the MoCo doesn't want people buying base model bikes, turning them into CVO clones, and then selling them as real CVO's.
