Its an unfinished project bike. My plan is to just pull it apart and put it together the right way. Hopefully avoid as many future problems as possible.. But its still a Shovel, so I'm excited about it.

Default 82' Superglide

Here is a pic of my 82' Superglide that I just picked up.
I also have an 06', but that Shovel is way fun to ride!
I have some big plans to include bars, wiring, kickstart, and suicide shift.
any advice would be great. thanks!

Here is my 82 FLH virtually untouched. The bike has a little over 30k orginal miles on it. I am looking to start to tear into it this winter.

Here is a youtube of it idling http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkUhDhlKl2Q

Default My 1980 FLT

Hello all. These are a few thumbnails of my 1980 FLT. It is my first bike since I sold my '65 pan in 1987 (which I had rebuilt from scratch after someone torched the previous owner's garage). It ran when I bought it. Previous owner bought it from someone who had worked on it but hadn't finished it off. The FLT front end was replaced with a Road King front end. I think it looks much better. A real retro look to it. Any idea as to the year? Perhaps from the configuration of the nacelle? The wiring is wonky. A mass of electrical tape in the hollow of the nacelle. Ignition switch needs to be replaced I think. As I turn from ignition to lights, the dash lights flicker on and off intermittently. There is a problem in the starter circuit. Starter relay picks up, starter turns intermittently. Battery is OK. I am going to rewire through the frame, so I am not too worried about that right now.

Will probably be looking for input and ideas as the winter progresses and I work on the beastie.

Good to have wheels under me again.

Tuk

No, not sympathy. Dude, that bike MUST be taken better care of. She's an antique! Cover her up, take care of her, cherish her. Thats the way you treat a worn out jap bike, not a Shovel. Hopefully the bug will hit your and you'll pull her in the living room, where all true Shovel lovers rebuild and modify there beloved motorcycles.

Okay, Dude, I mean this in the nicest way but Please don't call me Dude....K? I know it's generic these days but check my picture and you'll see. I know you don't want to hurt my feelings. That works both ways. Next time it happens I'll start spreading rumors that your name is
BikerLady and your first bike was Yamasaki and all your children ride Vespa.

[I'M JOKING in case there is any confusion.]

I would love to park the bike in the living room the way I did the last time[see the picture] I lived in a house. But this is a mobile home and it just won't fit through the door. And even if it did, then I would have to either walk to the tool shed out there where the bike is...or bring the tools in too. NOT GONNA HAPPEN. Just too much trouble. But to relieve your shovel love concern, that was the only snow flurry we've had, so I'm putting off garaging it till the bitter cold end of fall.

Thanks for your concern.
