Welcome from Ohio!!

when you ask for advice, you will get it... a wide variety of it. Listen and Learn, but in the end, you have to pay for it and live with it..

PS - look closely at the touring family...

Welcome. My advise, test ride several and ride them several times. It's a big investment, make it right the first time.

Hello and welcome from France !
It's impossible to give you an advice as this choice is really personal.
I got my riding license when I was 19 yo. From 20 to 48 yo I didn't ride a mile. And I got my first Harley at 48 yo. I'm 1m67 tall and 105 kg at that time. My first Harley was a Heritage Softail 1340. First day was very hard for me as I didn't ride since my young age, and that I had to ride in the center of Paris among thousands of cars and many traffic jams... After a week, things were OK.
Then I had a roadking, then an Ultra Classic, then a Sportster 1200 C and now a Heritage Softail again.
Make a good choice : YOUR CHOICE.

Welcome,Being your first I would check out the Heritage comes complete with bags and shield. About 170lbs less then a King and a really comfortable bike when sitting on it. Also has the larger dia front tire which is a plus doesn't track the ruts as bad as a smaller dia tire. But the best thing is find a dealer and rent a bike or two for a few hours and then buy.Cheaper then buying twice. Good luck with what ever your choose.
