Dr. V-Twin,

I've looked on your web site for this system, but can't seem to find it.

How about a PM with a price for a 2001 RK, carbed. Please!?

Thanks!

I'm certainly not trying to start anything here or bash anyone or any item. But I too have the D&D Fatcat on a 2010 SG and it looks good and is great workmanship BUT it sounds like AZZ. I had a freaking stock Honda many years ago that was louder than this thing. My riding buddies even joke me and ask, "is that thing running?"....lol. I even removed all the baffling sound padding and it increased the sound very little. I have never been so disappointed in any Harley related purchase. I paid $320 for it and it has only 45 miles of use on it and I'll be selling it shortly for probably $250 just to get rid of it.

Can you clarify? Do you have the Fat Cat slip-on with the stock headpipe or the full 2:1 Fat Cat header and muffler? Which baffle do you have?

D&D Fat Cat slip-on with the concentric baffle. Stock header pipe with the CAT removed however.

I think that's your problem. Without using the D&D headpipe, you'll never get the deep, louder sound you're looking for. The issue is the stock headpipe (even with the cat removed). Its simply not going to deliver the deeper, louder sound you're looking for.

I know, since I too have the stock headpipe with the cat removed. I also have the stock Harley SE mufflers, however the baffles have been replaced with the 2.25" Fullsac baffles. I've even removed the baffle packing. The sound is louder and certainly better than stock, but it's not the deep, sharp sound I'm looking for.

The sound of the Boss Fat Cat with the 2:1 headpipe is supposed to be entirely different from the Fat Cat slip-ons used with the factory headpipe (with or without the cat). And the real advantage of the Fat Cat headpipe is the performance based on the dynos. The sound is just a bonus.

Looks good & glad you like the 2-1 on 2010 SG. I still prefer the dual exhaust look on baggers (just my preference).

I agree....that's why I'm considering getting the 2:1 heap pipe AND the ghost pipe. This way I can have my cake and eat it too.

Can you post a pix of the baffle.
Just a shot from the rear of pipe.
I was told it is not a straight threw design.
D&D states 94db for the concentric baffle (quiet).

Thanks

Default Baffle

Hello, I have the d&d fatcat with the concentric baffle. I was curious if it's a hard job to swap out the concentric with a standard baffle for louder sound. If someone can explain to me how to go about it i would be very grateful as i don't want to just start hammering. Also if anyone has a standard baffle they want to sell or trade also let me know and i'll paypal or whatever for it as long as i can get it to fit my 2010 2:1 Fatcat

Thanks, Just pm me or reply to thread
