How do you get a list of items for the 5k check up?

Performing the 5k service yourself definately DOES NOT void your warranty! Keep all your receipts and write the dates in your log. At a minimum, change all three fluids yourself (quite simple) and then take the bike in for service explaining that you've already dropped the fliuds. The charge then should be just over $100 max. Not much more than an hours time for a tech. Lubing the steering head bearing should be part of the wobble correction (most likely).

Pick up a service manual and do what you are comfortable with. Ask tons of questions here when you're stumped or for clairfication. I doubt you'll run into anything someone here can't answer.

You'll learn about your bike and it's fun.

Good luck

Do what your comfortable with. If you are happy with the dealer let him do it. My local dealer does a first class job, the bike gets a show room clean to finish off the job and then gets a separate inspection by the workshop supervisor. Total cost of the service Ł150 ( $300). The works always good, the mechanic is a real perfectionist, treats everyones bike like his own.

The wobble in the front end is this something common on fatboys because it does it on my '08 fatboy. Infact for over a year now. It does it when I ride a slow speeds with one hand or slowing down with one hand on the handlebars. I thought it was the front tire because it seems to be cupping some. So I guess a bad bering would cause this.

Your dealer LIED to you. The service does need to be done at the proper intervals but it DOES NOT need to be done by the dealer. It even says this in your owners manual at the bottom of the service interval checklist. Look the checklist over. All they're doing is changing the oil and filter. The rest of the items are things that you do before you ride. Like check for leaks, tire wear/pres, etc. The owners manual describes everything you need to do to accomplish all the checks. My dealer is reputable and when I purchased the softail he told me that if I decide to do my own maint. to save the receipts and log when it was done.

The wobble, however, is a waranty issue and they should repair, even though I would take it to somebody else because this dealer lied.

So let me get this right . You have had a front end wobble for over a year without either fixing it yourself or having a stealer do it, then you are going to tell someone else it is normal.

That sounds like go ahead put it to your head and pull the trigger its only got one bullet in it. Watch I'll show ya
