Default S&S Easy Start Cams

After reading about this in a few mags and on the S&S site i dont know what to think of it. yes they make some good points but how will this spring hold up in the cam over time? What are your thoughts on their new types of cams

In my simple mind, it seems that more moving parts means more things can go wrong.

i do feel the same way. that is why i'm making the switch over to a carb from EFI. but if your doing engine work then you should be doing some head work. why not just put in compression releases then and there. i guess its the poor mans Compression release.

We had been aware of these coming for some time now, and do believe that they should be a good piece, for those that want them.
S&S was at our shop last Thursday, and they had samples to show us.
Very simple design indeed. All in all, well thought out units, from what we saw.

A lot of this kind of relates to starting issues. Lots of people have them and I have had them also.

Something somebody said a little while back caught my attention.

When you pick up your FI bike the service manager goes thru all this starting routine. Listen for the fuel pump to pressure up before hitting the run switch.

You don't do this for a auto so why for a MC??

So I have been doing this lately and it works find. Turn all the switches on and hit the RUN no wait and, starts right up.
