I would pay money to see a National map with the dealerships plotted on it, with markers of different colors for the level of service provided, averaged out with all these comments.

ZEPKA'S IN JOHNSTOWN PA. they really need to screen the people they hire as salesmen better, before they put them on the pay roll & they need to work on memory skills !! if i sold you 4 BRAND NEW BIKES , I WOULD STILL KNOW YOUR NAME !!!! other than that they aren't to bad , just buy your bike somewhere else.

Default NYC Harley Davidson on Long Island City

The service techs at the NYC Harley Davidson on Long Island City sent me out on my brand new bike with NO OIL IN THE PRIMARY. When the clutch flamed out after a mere 50 miles, they tried to blame it on me ("rider error," they said) and threatened to charge me for the repairs. The MoCo came to the rescue and paid for parts and labor; but even then the techs refused to come clean. Rather than admitting what had happened, they filled my head with nonsensical riding advice. E.g., "don't use clutch control techniques," "don't cover the clutch when you're riding at all," etc.--advice that's basically very, very dangerous to new riders. These ******** put saving their own skins above my personal safety, and that doesn't sit well with me at all. Avoid them at all costs. For a full discussion of the incident, click here.

I have to agree, how did you get talked into buying a bike that you did not want?! The only thing that you could probably do now is shop different dealers to see if you can find one to work with you. Otherwise I suppose just be content with what you're riding now, the wide-glide is a pretty versatile bike. Just out of curiosity, what did you want to get?

There is nothing wrong with a wide glide but $19,000 is a bit high for one.

As for your ride it for a year then trade it in deal; I think either you or that salesman was confused. The only ride it for a year and trade it in for a new bike program I've ever heard of was for the 2008 and 2009 Sportsters. If you bought one (but not the XL1200) between late December 2008 and before April 2009 you could have gotten a full credit of what you paid put towards a Twin cam or Vrod.

I've never heard of a Dyna trade in deal, just sounds wrong to me...

When did you buy the 2006?

started the day in Lafayette, La at Cajun Harley...told the guy i wanted a used bike...didnt care if it was a 1999 or 2009. for 30 min. he pulled me to the new bikes. i finally told him that i was gonna buy a bike and he asked which one....i told him not to worry about it because i wasnt buying it from him and left. Went straight to Hammond Harley Davidson.....smaller dealership and salesman didnt even get up from behind the counter to ask if i needed anything......Once again back on the road to Mike Bruno's Harley in Slidell, La. walked in the door, found my '08 Streetbob and deal was done in 20 min. great dealership and would recommend these guys to anyone...as for the others, well i think you probably know what i think
