Prodrag is correct about the compession with 1200 parts and 883 heads.
Does the piston seem to stick or does it feel like it's hitting something. Helped a friend figure out why he couldn't roll his engine over to put the top end together, he had cylinders bored and Wiesco dished pistons with stock 883 heads. Turned out he put in 883 head gaskets vs 1200. Not saying something this silly has happened, but it is a possibility.
Not silly, could be the problem, felt like it was hitting something, different gaskets did eliminate the problem but the rocker box covers don't appear to be properly seated. I'll get to the bottom of it with all this help, appreciate it. Would like to surprise my son when he gets released from prison, judge gave him 2 yrs for felony dui, accident wasn't his fault. Judge & my son have a history.....
In addition to the information ya'll provided on this subject is it possible that the pistons being installed backwards might cause the problem, the binding or stopping of the piston at TDC?
