Just got back from Hot Springs over Halloween weekend. Stayed there 2 nights. On Saturday, we rode up 7 and then came down 123. Also went up Mt Magazine. Colors were oputstanding on Mt Magazine. On Sunday, we rode to Mena and then took the Talimena Byway on our way back to Ft Worth. Again, outstanding fall color. Weather was just about perfect. All the rivers and creeks were flowing strong.
I have riding all over Northwestern Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma many times and I am never disappointed. Great roads and great scenery.
We were up in Eureka Springs Fri, Sat, and Sun. Didn't take the bike. Weather was bad Friday and then turned beautiful for the weekend.
Stayed in a log cabin just north of town and Sat evening saw some poor guy that straightened out a curve up in the mountains. The had him on a backboard and were loading him up in an ambulance. From the road I could barely see his bike down in the ravine. Luckily he handed on a rock outcropping or he would have had a longer drop than he did!
Ride safe up there. Some real twisties!
