The weather is finally looking decent after two months of crap so I'm taking off starting Wednesday for some much needed road time. Wednesday night in Mena, Thursday in Jasper and Friday in Eureka Springs. Should be home Saturday night to watch a little football.
Nice area to ride in. I've done Oklahoma City to Fayetteville and Eureka Springs for the past 2 years (Bikes, Blues, and BBQ). I love riding the Pig Trail...it's beautiful country.
I passed that place Saturday! The leaves should still be pretty awesome from Talimena to about Russellville or so…… they had a bad ice storm it looks like in the Ozarks in the past few years and the leaves were mostly gone already. They may not have had much to begin with. I think the color was mostly pretty dull all over because of the lack of sun this year, but Hot Springs may really come alive with all the sun this week.
You'll have a ton of fun. The weather over on my side of OK and over in AR is PERFECT. Supposed to be the entire week.
Did the lodge say why they were cancelling? Sounds to me like one to avoid.
The Arkansas House in Jasper canceled me. They said that the girl who made the reservation was unaware of a standing contract with another party (whatever that means) and there was only one room with a single bed available. No big deal, I booked a cabin a couple of miles up the road.
Man, don't let the ghosts at the Crescent hotel get ya.......I love the entire area-live about 30 minutes from Eureka now and grew up near mena....awesome riding.
