I have a 1995 edition and it looks like i'm going to be running into the same problem when i purchase my new exhaust.

did you check the lower left side on your frame to see if you have a couple of
i believe 3/8" threaded holes for brackets?

yes this is a flstn.....anyway there are no holes in the bike on the left side to mount the exhaust bracket. spoke to samson tech and he told me that it is neccesary to drill and tap for a 5/16 bolt to hold brackets. if you view the right side you will understand what i'm talking about. it's not like you are going to compromise the structural integrity of the frame by putting two bolt holes in it. if you notice how they are listed part number/year applications that is why they are not listed for a 1993 or 1994 because of the hole thing. if i'm not mistaken the holes are in your 1995. the samson tech was quite helpful and told me not to hesitate to call for advice.it can be done, has been done and will be done again. call or email the samson guys.

 

Yep you got a cow glide huh?? If so they were cool. Did you keep the black and white seat????

Anyway V&H normally is a very user friendly company. I can not see them not doing their research and making some sort of bracket or work around. They tend to be a bolt on company and normally do not require modification like drilling holes into your bike.

No disrespect but why the hell would he talk to a samson tech about V&H pipes??? That is like talking to a honda parts dept for help on a harley davidson.

 

samson true duals and the vance and hines are essentialy the same product only different. installation wise you have to do the same procedure. vance and hines part number is 16739 samson part number S-430,431 depending on the legnth of the mufflers tailpipes. no matter what product you decide on you have to drill and tap the left side of the frame to match the right to install the lower bracket to hold the pipes. when i inquired to samson the tech people answered me in about ten minutes. it seemed that he was having a problem with V&H's tech people. that's why i suggested samson. anyway emailed V&H today and received a prompt response. the way the parts are listed as to what fits what is because of the mount issue. it's really a simple procedure. the good thing is you can go to school on the right hand side of the bike. the hole doesn't go all the way thru the bracket. once you look at it you will understand what i'm talking about. as far as my bike goes it's a '94 so i have a gray leather seat with a strip of black cowhide going up the middle of it. the bags and passenger backrest are matching to that. if you guys are looking for a trip next season the hd museum in milwaukee has a beautiful example of the '93 on display. these bikes are becoming few and far between there were only 2800 or so built in the years '93,'94 and '95.the '93 being the most desireable becuase of the numbering that was shown on his dash in one of the previous messages. this was a willie g. design just like a '71 super glide. all are a little bit different but essential the same. it's a great example of the company's effort to produce special editions before the CVO division was created. i firmly believe this was CVO in it's infancy. the only other bikes that have been number like his are the anniversery editions. which have become very collectible also. no disrespect to you twin cammers out there(i'd own one too if i could afford another bike) but you guys have to remember that a lot of stuff has come and gone in the companies 106 years. the technology that is out there is far superior to things of the past but there is also a ton of real cool old stuff that has made the company what it is today. sorry to rant and rave.

 

Drill and tap that Nostalgia. I see no problem with it. On my biker there were plastic plugs in the holes that were already there. Drilled out the plugs and went to town. I see no reason it would not work, especially if the holes are on the other side already. All you need are two holes in the exact same spot on the other side of the bike. Do it.

As far as the lack of info regarding the bike, it makes me laugh. The original FLSTN was not the Deluxe.
