FLHX Air Shocks - Rough ride
In over a year of trying to find the magic number, I still can't get my air shocks at the right psi for a smooth ride. Too much air and I feel every crack in the road, too little and it bottoms out. I have it at 30 psi now and get a little of both with a passenger. Seriously, my FXDWG has a much smoother ride. I'm about ready to give up and get some other kind of shocks.
Any suggestions on psi for the air shocks? I am 190# and passenger is 160#.

Replace them with coil (spring) over shocks....Ohlins are a great choice....

For close to the price your pay for the Progressives, you can get the Ohlins, which are made to your specs....It's your money though, do what you thinks best....

Really? I wanted the Ohlins but was looking at $250 more for them. I'd switch out if I could get the Ohlins cheaper and sell off my Progressives. The Progressives are definitely a step above stock but I love the Ohlins on my enduro bike.

I have an '06 SG and never found that magic number either but I did find a solution that has worked very well for me. I installed standard 13" HD air shocks and couldn''t be happier. The ride is the way is should be. no more bottoming out and very smooth over most bumps in the road.
The best part is nobody has ever noticed that my SG sits a bit higher. It's virtually unnoticable so why suffer?

Price Difference
I only know that the list price on 440's is 599.00 and i think the 430's are 499 list, my Ohlins #2 version 13 1/4 inches long were less from Motorcycle Metal, a forum sponsor.
