Question Best Leather Boots

I hope this is the right place to post this. Does HD sell anything thats made in China ????? I just purchased a pair of the Brown Engineer Clint, leather Boot and was wondering if they mey be counterfit ? The tag says made in china and the boots dont even smell like leather, more like synthetic smell. The leather is thin but they look great and HD list them around $128.00 and I got these for $49.00 off ebay. I wore them today and they are not that comfortable walking in.

What are the most poplar boots you guys use that are real comfortable ?

My most comfortable boots I have are made by Wesco Scappanoose OR. Pretty pricey but I can wear them all day. They offer custom fitting and and a lot of options. I won't buy any other brand boot. I wear the Jobmaster model.

Unfortunately...those boots probably aren't counterfeit. Harley has a LOT of paraphanilia (including boots) made in china. The mine I work at has 2 boot trucks that come around selling work boots. One of them has Harley boots, and they are made in china. To be honest it's hard (but not impossible) to find an American made boot. Most brands are made overseas (including Caterpillar), and some brand (like Georgia boot company) sell some boots made in USA...& some made over seas. In my opinion the best boots your money can buy are Red Wings (USA made), and Thorogood. The links to these are below. Happy hunting & congratulations for thinking about supporting American workers!

I have a pair of Harley boots but haven't had the chance to wear them much yet. I also am a cable tv technician so my work boots are Wesco Highliners (16" high lace-to-toe) and those boots are great to ride in and they are just as comfortable as my tennis shoes when broken in.

I normally wear Australian Redback boots. For me they're very comfortable and no need for "break-in" period. When I commute, I wear these because I can walk in them all day. I also have a pair of Cruiserwork boots which I wear off work. They provide more ankle and toe protection than the Redbacks.

I second the Redwings. Great boots and comfortable all day long.

I'd go with Redwings or Chippewas (sp?). I've got about 4 pairs of Redwings and they are all great...they do take time to break in. The Chippewas are my next riding boot after trying some on a few weeks ago. I've got buddies that have them and love them.

I just ordered off for a custom pair of Wesco Boss Boots... pricey to the extreme, but they will last for the rest of my life (assuming I can make it another 25 years!). These are 100% made in USA, look great and I can't wait to get 'em on and ride!

Georgia boots are all I wear. And I do mean what I say. I don't wear anything but them. I don't own another pair of shoes.
