Default Streetglide with 13" shocks and 1" lowering kit - anyone tried it?

Just need confirmation that this will work on an 09/10 model? Will there be enough wheel to fender clearance to use the full 3" of travel available once the lowering kit is used? The lowering kit I was thinking about was the EGlidegoodies one?

Just thought this would be a great way to get a better ride still keeping the lowered look of the SG.

I have done it. It works pretty well. It won't hit the fender at the 1" setting but I won't promise the shock won't bottom out. It may actually bottom out a little easier but at my weight (210) it didn't very much.

You may loose a wee little bit of the ride comfort. Not much though if any. For the record I have run it this way for 15K miles (two up too) without any issues.

Good luck!

this would be the same if an e-glide or road king put a lowering kit on. it does efect riding quality the lower you go. your shock may have the travel itself but remember you are angling out the shock so it will suffer

Thanks for the reply. Is there a lowering kit available that doesn't change the angle of the shock or compromise the ride quality?? IMO no point going to a longer shock and lowering it if the overall ride is no better than the original shorter shock set up.
