OK...it's 'clear' that trying a Slyvania is maybe the best/good choice....so, how do I know which bulb to get? are they like other aftermarket parts at an auto store, and that they have a catalog near by to look up your bike and part # ?

Default Replacement Bulb

I went down to the local custom cycle shop and bought a PIAA Powersport 4H anti-vibration bulb, 60W/55W. Its the Xtreme White Plus. Low beams is blue tint and the high beam is super white. I have had this bulb on my bike for bout 6 months, have never had to put it on high beams yet, since the low beam is brighter that the high beam on my original bulb. Once you put it on your bike you will never regret it...........O, it did cost me $45.00..........hope you find what your looking for.

You can find one HERE.
How come they advertise it as a headlight bulb and then in their disclaimer say it is only to be used in aux. lighting, NOT headlights???

Same basic reason there's a warning on a pack of cigs. To cover their *** from basically any legal matter.

PIAA motorcycle lights are intended for use solely as auxiliary lighting. PIAA motorcycle lights are not intended to be used for headlight purposes, nor are they certified for headlight usage. Auxiliary lighting laws vary from state to state. PIAA makes no representation or warranty, either expressed or implied, as to the legality of its products for street use on any vehicle or in any location. PIAA motorcycle lights are designed to improve visibility during night time motoring and inclement weather conditions. However, irresponsible use of any auxiliary light can be dangerous and illegal.

Did the HID on the nightster. $85 from the indy and about 2 hours to properly install, hiding the ballast/wires.

I added HID's to my car a few years ago. I know the ballast size is a lot smaller today. Which kit did you buy?

Does anybody know if you can replace the OEM house with one with a built in projector (to fine tune the light, and reduce oncoming glare)?

I'm running the PIAA and really like it. Big difference over stock.
