I own a 2007 Street Glide. Being that H-D approves of SYN3 20W-50 for engine, chain case and tranny, I had no qualms about going to Amsoil 20W-50 Motor cycle oil being that it is also wet clutch compatible. I switched over after 5,000 miles. I have been running that way for the last two years. The highest engine oil temperature I've ever seen is 234 degrees F. However, because I live in a rural area, I have never been in stop and go traffic for an extended period. I do most of my riding in northern NH, VT and Maine. We do get our 90 degree heat waves every year but they don't last long. The only different "feel" that is apparent to me is that the drive train components feel more "cushioned" when I shift to another gear.

Additionally, the Amsoil 20W-50 Motor cycle oil meets the SAE 90 API GL-1 gear oil requirements.

RED LINE V-TWIN TRANSMISSION OIL WITH SHOCKPROOF. New name for the old Heavy Duty with Shock proof. Stuff clings so well that Simple Green will not cut it when you try to clean up you funnel and oil change stuff. Plus, since it looks just like Pepto-Bismol, finding a leak is easy.

Talking Trans oil

I switched to Mobil 1 syn 85-140 and I could not be happier. I dont need a clutch it slips into gear. But I do use it. There is no more clunking when putting in 1st anymore. And as others have already stated finding neutral is so easy now. I ride a 2007 dyna street Bob with a 103" and a SE 204 cam with reinhart 2 into 1 exhast. As for the clutch oil dont use syn oil if you want the clutch to last any 20-50 will work and change it often, its just a coolant. Mobil 1 syn 20-50 in the motor and all will be good for many miles. Had it up to 110mph and still pulling when I lost my nerve. bottom line its great oil and I'm not afraid to push my bike with it.

Will try the redline Heavy Shock proof in the trans as is the same as V Twin Redline shock proof. Up here they want $23.00 for thr Redline V Twin trans fuild and $14.99 for the heavy shock proof which are both one the same, so the Redline site says. The heavy shock proof is a 75W250 that flows and only causes drag equl to a 75W90 weight the site claims. The V-Twin primmary is the same as the MTL again the Redline site says. They charge more just because the bottle says V-Twin on it? The Redline V-Twim primmary is equal to a 5W30 oil where as the Amsoil site says to use their MCV which is their 20W50 Motorcycle oil which is also a-ok for wet clutchs. The diff in the two weights oils for the primmarys seems so far apart. Does anyone known the weight of the Harley primmary lub.. Seems that everyone out here that uses the Redline, claim it works great.

Exactly my expierence with a Baker DD6 in a totally rebuilt 93 FXLR. Redline 20/50 in my engine and B&M Trickshift per Energy One's instructions in the primary for the extra plate clutch. 98.6hp/95.3tq tells the story on an 85" EVO, just my personal choices.

Default Try some Spectro

I dont know if any body has tried the Spectro products but just did the 20,000 mile service and put spectro in the tranny and primary and then put amsoil in the engine and quite as a church mouse. Spectro has a product for the six speed and since putting it in have not heard one whine in 5th. Just thought I would pass on something new to the board and believe me I treat my king better than the queen of the house when it come to service No but really look into spectro cannot go wrong

Default formula +

Why I use formula plus. The best oil known to mankind. Hugo Chavez and the MOCO said so.
