Default Why doesnt everyone own one??

Now i have a question that seems like a no-brainer to me but doesnt seem to cross ALOT of peoples minds.

Why doesnt everyone own a shop manual for theyre bike?? I see quite alot of simple questions on here that are all answered in the manual and i cant figure out why someone will ask about doing theyre 10k service thereselves to keep from paying $600 at a shop but they wont go buy a $50 shop manual...

Dont misunderstand me as i think forums offer a wealth of information on every subject imaginable and i like answering questions where it is not cut and dryed like for example "why is my bike not running right?" or "what is the best two into one pipe?" but i get tired of seeing questions like "which drain plug is for my oil and which is for the tranny on my RK?" Think about it; these are all questions that are answered in the shop manual and even include pics with arrows for people that dont like reading!!! Just curious...

or an FN FAL....you might need that more than a shop manual. There is nothing a .308 cal. can not fix.

Heck with those mini-guns....

We have mean rabbits around my neck of the woods, and when they attack nothing less than my 50 caliber will stop them.

I think weapons are kinda like what ya wear when ya ride. What ya wear don't make ya bad and what a weapon looks like or what caliber it is don't make it bad...It's what's in the heart and/or trigger finger of the one that's attached to it that does. JMHO.

Almost every vehicle I've owned, I bought a service manual, it used to be Clymers or Chiltons for my old jeeps, dodges or bikes, after my first factory service manual for my 03 TJ, I'm never going back.
The level of detail available in a service manual is unbelievable!
Pictures, diagrams and schematics.
With the Harley you shouldn't limit your self to just the service manual, the electrical diagnostics and parts manual are also great "accessories".

PS there ain't much meat on a rabbit to begin with, how the HE LL do you find any thing after it gets hit with that
