My 72 has this plug..it is the same size as the timing plug but not designed to be removed. But the 70 and 71 has none like P.G. says

If Seventyiron has a 1972 with the infamous plug, then that was the first year. A 1971 and earlier does not have the plug.

As a side note: The 1970-1974 Factory Service Manual has no mention or pics showing this plug. You would expect to see at least a pic of this but it does not exist......

Yeah your right about that. I keep hearing do not touch that bolt go figure it looks like a drain plug from what the the forum says
