I noticed a slight lag with TBW but had adapted to it before got home from the Dealer.. With the other benefits it has, was an easy adjustment ..

My 07 FLHTC does it too...i just twist the throttle a bit more....it has done it since about 10000 miles though...Sounds like the crankshaft is loose....is what i told my dealer... he said to throttle up, don't lug...I am gonna do a compensator...springs may be weak, seriously....solo or 2 up it does it if i take off at a too low RPM...it's under warranty and i will ride the crap out of it till i get rid of it.

Stage 1 with a good fuel processor will help. These bikes are real dogs off the line stock.

The last thing my salesman said before I left the dealership was "don't lug the motor, they don't like it". I'm 360lbs+ and the only time my mill "Lugs and Knocks" is if I'm in the wrong gear when trying to accelerate. When that occasionally happens I instantly down shift and away I go. 2nd gear can be a dog for me if the bike is barely rolling but from a dead stop in 1st gear, my TC 96" hauls my fat *** with no trouble. You don't have to rev the **** out of it either. I can roll out as easy as I please and it doesn't lug. It's all down to how your working the clutch lever and throttle.

I'm not on the small side (6' 5"-295 lbs) but can't say that I do.

Like several have mentioned, get the revs up a little if you need to.

Sounds like you just need to grab a bit more throttle. The big V-twins have a ton of low end torque. There's no reason your motor should lug on takeoff. Let the clutch out to the friction point, then start bringing on the throttle as you let the clutch out the rest of the way.

I had the same problem until I had my bike tuned on a Dyno. The tuner said he could get most all of the delay out. He did and now I don't have the problem. If you really want to have a problem try an 07/08. The gearing is taller which makes it even harder to take off. They changed the gearing on the 09's so it's better.
