Default 49T Evo Ring Gear install

I'm going to get one of these 49T ring gears this winter and install it on my 07 RK, has anyone here had any hands on experiance doing this.
I called EVO and they where quite vague about the actual process of installing the ring gear on the clutch basket, all he could tell me was I needed a machine shop to mill the rivets off???????
Can anyone give me an insight on this process??

Do a search on this forum. I think his price went up to $480.00 or some such highway robbery. IMO anybody that's vague with a prospective customer will be arrogant later on. I'm gonna do the SE compensator and the Andrews 30T trans pulley myself. I don't have cruise and can count to six.

some have lost the 6 th gear light,there was a good thread awhile back comparing the cluth basket or the 30t crank sproket or the 30t trans pully.im lookin at the trans pully that leaves room for the se comp down the road.

There has been talk from Viennahog that the 30 tooth pulley is eating up his belts , check out what he has been posting to see if it's applicable to your situation. And going to the 49 tooth clutch sprocket shouldn't preclude you from changing to a SE compensator.

There are three other things you can change to alter overall gearing, if that is what you want to achieve. It seems to me the clutch is the most difficult, the crank sprocket the easiest. What attracts you to doing this? Just curious.

The crank sprocket gears the bike lower than the 49T clutch gear. Lower than many would like, including me. It also eliminates the compensator. Some think that's not a good idea.

the ring gear is what the starter enguages with to crank the bike.. they are fun to replace ,but doable... you can drill the heads off the rivetsand knock um thru with a punch.... flaring the new rivets is the fun part( keeping the gear tite to the clutch basket)

I replaced my clutch and changed the ring gear from old to the new.. I used Grade 8 bolts with Nyloc nuts with Loctite.. put the heads on the backside... nuts to the outside.

I had my indy do the work for me. Evo supplied new bolts to secure the ring gear to the clutch basket (after drilling a slight countersink). You also need a tool to press the bearing out and back in according to the directions. Like I said, I had a local indy do it for 50 bucks. I like it so far. Cruise still works and i was able to get the 6th gear light to work again with the T-Max.

Steve,

Assuming your bike has the stock 34T/46T primary, your primary gearing is 1.353:1, so fitting a 49T will change that to 1.441:1.

If instead you can fit a 32T compensator sprocket, the gearing 32T/46T will be 1.438:1, which is as close the same as matters! (99.8%)

So are there no 32T compensating sprockets available?
