Exclamation se part numbers for jugs + pistons

I'll try and keep this as short as possible. I need some advice from the all knowing members on here.

I am presently riding a 07 electra glide classic with about 24k miles. This winter I want to do some upgrades to the engine for a little more power and I am looking at the 103 jugs and pistons with a 255 cam. There is a set of jugs and pistons that I can get for about half price, but the listing says it's for a softail. What the heck is the difference from a softail to a touring with regards to this? The part number that is listed is 29903-07. The SE catalog does say it is for a softail. I just can't see any difference between the softails and touring with regards to jugs and cylinders. So, what am I missing?

Thanks in advance for all feed back on this matter

The listing I see for pn 29903-07A says "Fits all '07 Twin Cam and '08-later softail models". Or you could go with pn 29893-07A stageII.

the SE# is 16546-99,but if you were to look at one the casting # is 16593-99,the same as your stock cylinders, they are just bored at the factory.(we dont like the factory bored cylinders, seen probs with both TC cylinders as well as 883-1200(we KNOW their right when we bore them)just make sure the EBAY place uses proper boring equipment(not bored with a lathe or on a mill)but proper cylinder boring machine, such as van norman, kwick way, rottler.and also torque plated & honed with proper equipment also (sunnen),only way to insure a straight bore with out any tapering

Well, I learned something new about this. All the time I was thinking that the 103 cylinders and pistons were made specifically for a 103 and not bored out 96 jugs.

If I were to have my existing jugs bored out, how much wall thickness would I lose? This has always been a concern of mine, even when doing the "old" V-8 engines.

Again, to all thanks for your input.

Not enough to worry about. The jump from 96 to 103 changes bore diameter by exactly the same amount as 88 to 95. The only difference between the 95 and 103 is the stroke. Hundreds of thousands of bikes out there with bored out cylinders and no problems.

think about it,if it fits in the case, without boring the case, its the same size(sleeve),HD did the same thing with the TC motors as the 883`s,put in a thick sleeve,so it can be bored to the oversize (3.875).i think it was one of the major reasons for the TC motor, think about how much HD has made since `99 on big bore kits??lots, good idea though.a bored 3.750 cylinder has about the same wall thickness as an evo cylinder,no prob with over heating, going 3.935 is alittle iffy though

I forgot completely about that! You are correct in the fact that if it fits in the case, then all they did is punch out the cylinders. Now here's another question for everybody. What is the diameter for a 107"? I do not remember even how to calculate that! You know, CRS.
