S&S 570 Cams

I ran into an old bud of mine this morning and he was on his 98' Dyna. He had just installed a 95" big bore kit. He did not have any head work done and was running an S&S 570 cam and for exhaust he had a set of Samson Street Sweepers. Man I tell you what that thing sounded freekin nasty. I was wondering if anyone knew if you can install these cams in a stock 96". I have already checked and they are available for 06' up. I just think that if he can install one in a 95" engine then I should be able to install them in a 96" engine. Or am I wrong?

570 is getting into the needing new springs zone, I "think" our beehives are good to 550.

s&s reccommends you up grade the springs when using the 570 cams

Yeah but how does it run

What are the gains to adding lumpier cams ,,h,power? top end ? torque has anyone dyno tested before and after,,,I think that might be the way to go .

Cams are designed to produce power in various points of the powerband. Low, mid, top. Picking the right one to compliment your riding style is the key. Most harley want a cam that makes low-midrange power. Top end is a waste.
