Go with the 05 for the fuel injection and that it is newer, worth more when you go to sell it.

Not a bad price but many deals out there. Hard to find parts for any Deuce, nothing fits. The older one is better if you want to hot rod it.

Unless you are set on a Deuce I'd look around - great deals - FXSTS with big bore and gear drive.

I would go with the newer bike. In my mind I got the best of both worlds a 2005 Deuce and it is carbed!

i love efi with a thundermax. i also drove a carb 05 sportster and a 06 efi and the same bike has better throttle response and smoother power curve with efi

Yes very true with the better power curve with the EFI but with EFI you always need to take it to a shop if something goes wrong. With a Carb you can tweak it yourself.

If you are a DIYer I would go with the carbed bike...I have driven nothing but carbed bikes so I cant bag on EFI...I just know when I want to mess with the bike its simple and through the time I have gotten to "know" my bike better. If you just want to jump on and go and let the dealer do all the work then maybe the 05 is better for you...
