i agree with you to a point, the guy asked for an honest opinion,i gave one, then this clown comes up with "we`re jealous cause there the best harley ever made"bla, bla, bla.im not jealous, just stating a fact about their handeling,go back on the ahdra site and hear about the guys complaining about almost getting pitched off the destroyers at high speed.besides,i ride & race harleys because i love harleys.we`re running a nitro carberated bike that runs 7.40`s @ 187 in the quarter,if i wanted something cheaper, more dependable, more technecly advanced ide get a hyabusa, but it wouldnt be a harley.to each their own,im youve got one and love it,more power to ya,i really dont dislike v-rods,just not my cup of tea

I think the original question was the frequent 2 up. That's why I said I think they'll put a revoluton in a cruiser in the future. As for racing.....I don't keep up with it much, but do know someone that went to the vrod plant and said there was a guy there with a street legal rod tricked with nitrous that would do 202 in the quarter. And all bikes have their pros and cons. I've heard the handeling issue before. I've noticed it.....but its something you get used to. Its a different machine. The horrible thing about the vtwins is because they're air cooled I've never known anyone that hasn't had issues starting with their back jug because of the lack of air flow it gets as opposed to the front. And if you get caught in traffic its murder on that back cylinder as your engine temp skyrockets. Every vtwin I've owned had to have a rebuild anywhere from 35 to 50k because the back cylinder was smoking. I think its exciting that HD is addressing these issues and I'm anxious to see what they do in the future.

it is good that the factory is trying to up date technicaly.and the v-rod is a nice motor, and water cooling is in the future, but not near future for the whole line,it wouldnt be acepted and HD would be out of bussiness,as far as a v-rod going 202 in the 1/4,only if you drove it off a 1/2 mile cliff, aint gunna happen,

My bad, it was 202mph at the bonnieville flats in utah. As for the vrod....Andrew Hines ran a 6.889 in the pro stock division to the #1 qualifying position and the second fastest ET in pro stock motorcycle history (on a vrod) on March 30, 2009 at the NHRA races in Houston, Texas. Too bad you wasn't there to show him who's boss, huh?

And I guess your"187mph" bike is a stock bike. Look, I'm just debating an issue and I'm not going to stoop to name calling and bad language. It is what it is.....you don't have to get bent out of shape.

Revolution motor is definitely a big part of harley's future. I just don't think the vrod is. Not saying it won't be a model, I just think that HD will nd to adapt it to be more pleasing to people who have their ideas set in their heads about what a "real harley" is. If that means they have to disguise the radiator a bit like the honda fury, and work on making it a bit "gruntier" (I know not a word) then so be it. But until thy do that you'll always have two perfctly reasonable fellas being perfectly unrasonable to each other, whether on a forum or in a bar. But both will prolly be decked out in their black and orange boxers, socks, jacket, glasses blah blah

Yes, we are now the 2009 CMDRA, National, Top Fuel Nitro Harley Champions.

We came into the weekend 2nd and faced off against the guy ahead of us in points. He qualified fist and we qualified 8th but trailered him with 6.84 second, 208 MPH. After this we needed to go one more round to move into fist place for the Championship.

Next, we against a guy who ran 217 MPH testing on Friday and trailered him in a great drag race with a 6.8 second, 214 MPH pass.

By the final round we had clinched the title already.

The old girl was tired after a long season and we had a last minute leak in the clutch hydraulics, that couldn't be fixed properly in time, so we put a band aid on it and hoped for the best. Unfortunately we ended up losing in the final to the 2008 number 1 plate holder.

Nick Allen, the Western Canadian Champion, won the V-Rod Destroyer National Championship once again. He raced Dave Bispo, the Eastern Canadian Champion for the title.

Very nice to meet the guys from Eastern Canada who came out to take part.

Excellent weekend for racing all around.

For the OP:
I suggest checking out 1130cc.com under "Baggers" forum. Lots of vrod owners over there who have toured 2 up and logged thousands of miles on their Vrods. You do need at least a comfy seat (like sundowner), and windshield or (DIY)fairing to be comfy on long distance rides.

Now that all the B-Sers are done, we have over 10,000 miles riding double on an 06 night rod that now has 24,000 miles on it. A-fish, you might want to look into Arnott's air suspension. Other than that, ride the hell out of it. The bike will run all day long two-up at 90mph and still be ready to attack the twisties.

Anybody want to cry bull-crap, I don't care. It's what we bought the bike for and we damn well ride it.
Look at my avatar and you can see how we run. That sissy bar didn't come from Harley or Krappyachin.

Hey TJ! Good going!!
