I dont mean to hijack this thread and I think anyone who would read this would have already gotten their answer to their question about how EITMS works, but my question is has anyone not had theirs turned on and the heat gotten so hot that it welds the spark plug to the head?

I know my Night Train lasted through sitting in traffic for almost an hour with no bad effects. It was one of those where you sit for 10 minutes, move 6 feet and sit again kinda deals. Although it got so hot that it felt like my skin was boiling on my legs, it never seemed to effect anything. I did shut it down once, about halfway through, for a few minutes. I was afraid that it wouldn't start back up it was so hot. That was not fun, and it would of been nice to of had this feature at that time.

IMO, I see no reason to disable it on a stock bike. There have been some posts indicating stalling problems with EITMS enabled and a PC-V installed. If that's the case, it might be worth disabling the EITMS. I don't know how widespread an issue this has been though.

For now at least, I'm leaving mine enabled!

Ride Safe,
Steve R.

I have it enabled on my 09' Street Glide and it kicks in all the time here in the deep south. I like the function myself...

Turn on the ignitions don't start the engine and roll the throttle forwards and hold the throttle until the green light comes on and then let go of the throttle.

The EITMS was disabled on delivery but I use the feature as it gets pretty hot here in the summer. I took care of the PC-V/EITMS issue by modifying my map and bumping TP in 0% column from 0 to +5 at 750, 1000, 1250rpm and it took care of it completely. Make sure you do both cylinders.
